Hugh a 1935 graduate from Mariette High School. 1940 he earned a Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Wisconsin. Hugh worked for as an officer for the Ansul Company in Mariette for 30 years, and in 1969 he bought the Interstate Welding Sales Corporation at Mariette. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Menominee, where he had served as Elder and Deacon of the church. He served as president of the Menominee and Marinette Chambers of Commerce, past president and honorary member of the Menominee Ambassadors, member of the National Welding Supply Association where he had served as president in 1985, past president and honoring member of the Marinette Kiwanis Club. Hugh was a member and past president of the Riverside Country Club where he had played golf since the age of six. Hugh had delicate his life to community service. Hugh served his country as Lieutenant of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Hugh had Three children and 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
