MAYODAN — Leo Herbert Richardson, 73, of Snow Hill, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, at Colonial Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Clearview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Richardson was a native of Rockingham County. He was born April 11, 1935, to the late Albert H. Richardson and the late Mary Priddy Richardson. He was a member of Bayless Highway Baptist Church and was retired from Ivy Steel and Wire with 22 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betsey Gillson Richardson, and brothers, Odell H. Richardson and Frank D. Richardson.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Richardson and wife, Tammy, of Old Town, Florida; two daughters, Denise Richardson Haight and husband, Wayne, of Graham, Florida, and Darlene Richardson Poole and husband, Donald, of Snow Hill; sisters, Irene R. Amworthy of Sandy Ridge, Geneva R. Vernon of Madison, and Peggy R. Crow and husband, Norman, and Ann R. Watson, both of Reidsville; seven grandchildren, Angela McClellan, Craig Haight, Kelli Haight, Brad Haight, Beau Haight, Scotty Richardson, and Kevin Richardson; and ten great-grandchildren.

Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
