Teddy Ed Evans, age 76, passed away peacefully in his home in Clayton, CA on Friday, July 25, 2008, after a three month battle with Metastatic Melanoma.


Ted was born September 9, 1931 in Park City, Utah, the 11th and youngest child of Edward P. and Mae Hansen Evans. He married Barbara Jean Nelson on April 18, 1953 in Park City, Utah. The marriage was solemnized on October 18, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. Resident of Murray for 10 years from 1955 to 1965. He served four years in the U.S. Navy from July 1950 to July 1954 during the Korean War. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Utah in Accounting. He retired after 28 years at Westinghouse and after 13 years at General Electric. He served for 15 years as Temple ordinance worker in the Oakland Temple.


Ted is survived by his wife Barbara; his children, Bonny Blanchard (Ron) of Oakley, Blake (Linda) of San Ramon, Betsy Thinger (Charles) of Colorado Springs, CO and Brook (Michelle) of Antioch; his 12 grandchildren; his brothers Stewart and Ben Evans, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. His was a life of service and he was a friend to all. His love of cooking and candy making endeared him fondly to many and will be missed.


A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Oak Park Hills Mortuary at 3111 North Main Street in Walnut Creek, California. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 10:00am at the Clayton Valley LDS Ward Chapel at 1360 Alberta Way in Concord, California. A Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 9:45am prior to services.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday July 31, 2008 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Murray 11th Ward Relief Society Room at 5750 South Nena Way (100 West) in Murray, UT.
Interment will occur on Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Park City Cemetery on Kearns Avenue at 12:30pm.
The Funeral Procession will leave Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary in Murray at 11:00am.
