Norman Lee Haynes, 65, Monse. died Tuesday, at the Harmony House in Brewster.
Born at Withrow on May 6, 1915, he lived there two years before moving to Monse in 1917, where he attended school. The family later moved to Carnation.
In the 1930s Mr. Haynes served in the state's Civilian Conservation Corps, then joined the US Army in 1939, serving a short time before receiving a medical discharge. He worked in the West coast shipyards during World War II.
After the war, Mr. Haynes returned to North Central Washington and worked at various joys including at several orchards.
Survivors include one brother, Albert Haynes, Mishawaka, Indiana.
Services were held Friday, September 26, at the Bridgeport Cemetery. Chaplain George Crook officiated. Barnes Chapel, Brewster, was in charge of arrangements.
