Mrs. William M. Locke, of Clarkston, Washington an early pioneer of Wallowa county, passed away at a hospital in Clarkston Tuesday evening February 10, 1953, following an illness of several months.
Margaret (Maggie) Murray was born in Winnipeg, Canada, on April 9, 1874, to Alexander and Catherine Murray.
On December 26, 1888, she was married at Alder to George B. Jacob, and to them were born two children, George Glenn Jacob and Dollie Margaret. Dollie died on January 20,1924.
On July 22, 1920, she was married to William M. Locke at Enterprise.
About 25 years ago the couple moved to Clarkston to make their home and where he passed away on November 24, 1943.
Mrs. Locke is survived by one son, George Glenn Jacob, of McMinnville; one brother, W.A. Murray, Huntington Beach, California; two sisters, Mrs. Anna McCormack of Joseph and Mrs. Gladys Fitzpatick of Portland; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the family plot in Vineland cemetery.
Former residents of Wallowa County, now living in or near Clarkston, were pallbearers.
Going from here for the funeral were Mrs. Glenn Hauenstein, Mrs. Anna McCormack, Arthur Harsin, and Mrs. Betty Tippett.
