MARGARET HOLLENBECK DIES AT 96
Margaret R. Hollenbeck, 96, a resident of Asotin county for 75 years, died Monday at 1:45 p.m. of pneumonia at Tri-State Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for a week.
Mrs. Hollenbeck, a retired homemaker and a resident of Rest Haven nursing home, Clarkston, was a charter member of the Asotin County Gerontology Council, and of the Women's Society of Christian Service and a member of the Clarkston United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge at Clarkston.
She was born June 19, 1878, at Rush City, Minn., the daughter of William and Anna Olson VanNetter. On Sept. 30, 1895, she married Frank E. Vredingburgh, at Groton, S.D. That marriage ended in a divorce.
She had come west with Vredingburgh, to Hartline, Wash., in 1896 and in 1900 she moved to Asotin. She married Frank C. Hollenbeck on March 22, 1903, and they farmed on Weissenfels Ridge until 1937, when they moved to Clarkston to operate an orchard and dairy farm.
Hollenbeck died Oct 10, 1939.
Her survivors include a son, Chester Hollenbeck of Walnut Creek, Calif., and three daughters, Florence Talbott, Clarkston, Dorothy Clark and Bernice Herndon, Lewiston; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren. Another son, George Vredingburgh preceded her in death.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Merchant Funeral Home, Clarkston, with the Rev. Joseph C.W. Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Vineland Cemetery.
The family suggests that any memorials be donations to the Clarkston United Methodist Church.

Assyria Township, Barry Co., Michigan to Henry V. [21999390] and Viola A. Williams Vredingburgh [66176840].
