Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.

Doyle was a story-teller, hunter, fisherman, gardener and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He endured numerous illnesses in these last years with remarkable grace and courage. Bud was a hard worker all his life, starting at the tender age of 6. He began working with horses at age 12 where he was an apprentice jockey. Bud did become a leading jockey in the 1940s for five years, followed by becoming a horse trainer. He retired from Standard Meat Co. in Fort Worth after 21 years. He had been a faithful member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church since 1977. He was a wonderful role model to everyone and he never met a stranger.
