GRAND CHAIN, Ill. — Clyde Clifford Jones, 80, of Grand Chain died at 1:45 a.m. Friday at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was a U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and was retired from the Century school district. He was a member of Hillerman Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mary Reeves Jones; four sons, Michael Jones of Belknap, Dennis Jones and Martin Jones, both of Grand Chain, and Alan Jones of Paragould, Ark.; one daughter, Rebecca Moss of Grand Chain; one sister, Nola Macchi of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother. His parents were Ernest Jones and Annie Ringstaff Jones.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with the Rev. David Keyes officiating. Burial will be at Hillerman Baptist Church Cemetery.
