Granite Falls, N.C. - Mrs. Nina Church Church, 87, of Granite Falls, died peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2008.
She was born July 9, 1921 in Wilkes County to the late Leander Jackson "Lee J." Church and Fannie Caroline Mikeal Church.
Mrs. Church retired from Shuford Mills in Granite Falls and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Granite Falls.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Church was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dempsey Church; four brothers, Coy, Pressley, Russell and Johnson Church; and two sisters, Avis Greer and Rose Greene.
She is survived by two sons, Lee Church and wife, Penny, of Albemarle and Frank Wayne Church and wife, Kim, of Hickory; three daughters, JoAnn Annas and husband, Steve, of Granite Falls, Willa Jean Overcash of Hickory and Virginia Sipes and husband, Randall, of Lenoir; one sister, Helen Beshears and husband, Ellis, of Wilkesboro; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mrs. Church will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, in the Chapel of Mackie-High Funeral Home, with the Revs. Wayne White and Lee Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Mackie-High Funeral Home.
