A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Wilkin Griffin, 68, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 11:14 p.m. Saturday (May 16, 1992).
Interment was in the church cemetery.
He was the husband of Bernice Cheramie Griffin; father of Stephen and Gene Griffin, Linda Leacock, Christine Arabie and Karen Morales; brother of Norman, Nolty, Alvin and Larry Griffin, Loretta Guidry and Nancy Lassengne. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nocelia Guidry and Paul Griffin, the name of a stepdaughter, Donna Darda, was omitted. He was survived by 17 grandchildren.
A sister was incorrectly identified and should have read Lorita Guidry.Also, he was preceded in death by his brothers Louis, Joseph, Paul and Dudley Griffin.
