AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT KILLS TWO

Two men were killed Sunday afternoon when the small aircraft in which they were flying crashed and burned in a field near Kibler.

According to Crawford County Coroner, Nolan Broyles, the two, whose names are being withheld by authorities, were killed on impact when the plane crashed into the field in the Arkansas River bottom. Broyles said the victims were a rural Crawford County man and an Ozark man.

The crash occurred between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m. in a field owned by Jimmy Don Gooch and was reported to Crawford County authorities by Zell Arnold, who was working in a nearby field.

The two were apparently flying over farmland inspecting the fields when the crash occurred.

Broyles said the bodies were transported to Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home and will be sent to the State Medical Examiner's office at Little Rock.
