ORIEN MONROE AMOS
Amos Funeral set Saturday
Orien Monroe Amos, 83, a retired La Grande railroader, died in a local hospital this morning following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Bishop Melvin Westenskow officiating. Burial will be in the Island City cemetery. Daniel's Funeral Home is in completing arrangements. Mr. Amos was born in Camden county, Mo., April 14, 1876. He had lived in La Grande the past 50 years. He was a member of the Latter-Day Saints church. Mr. Amos is survived by four sons, W.L. Amos of La Grande, Lonnie of Hermiston Carl of Salt Lake City, Utah. And Leland of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Elma Fullmer and Mrs. Darlena Hargett, both of La Grande; one sister, Mrs. Laura Sellers of Montereal, Mo.: 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
