Mr. Close is well known in Owen County where he had been engaged in farming until his health failed. He was a member of the Union Church of Christ.
Mr. Close is survived by the widow, Arabell, a step-mother, Mrs. Martha Close of Terre Haute, two daughters Mrs. Ruth Biddle of Spencer and Mrs. Dorothy Henry of Bloomington. seven sons, Boyd of Terre Haute, Neal near Spencer. David at home, Wilbur of Michigan City, Byron of Dugger, Roscoe of Poland, Fred of Spencer. Three half-sisters, Mrs. Mima Stuckey of Riley, Mrs. Floy Turner of Cocy, Mrs. Leah Rector of Hammond, two Brothers Cortland of Madison and Zenith of Terre Haute, 34 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
The body was taken to the Schoppenorst funeral home at Clay City pending funeral arrangments.
