Ray "Skinner" Courtwright, 66, of Cameron, RD 1 (Sugar Grove), died at 12:15 a.m., July 2, 1968.
He was born Aug. 2, 1901 in Greene County, a son of William and Sadie Pettit Courtwright.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Sugar Grove Union Church.
His wife, Letha Hartley Courtwright, died in 1942.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Schaefer, Columbia, S. C; Mrs. Sadie Marshall, Hanoverton, Ohio; Mrs. Betty Marshall, Beloit, Ohio; four sons, James, Donald and Guy, all of Washingtonville, Ohio and Mack, Salem, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Caldwell, Cameron, R. D. 1 and Mrs. Edna Morris, Sharon; four brothers, Leonard, Thomas and William, all of Cameron, R. D. 1; and Robert, Cameron R. D. 2 and 29 grandchildren.
Five brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Funeral services were held July 4, 1968 with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Note* Ray Courtwright was fatally injured in a fall down stairs at the Rock Lick Tavern, Rock Lick, Marshall Co., WV., just across the state line from Penna. His death was listed as accidental.
