Funeral services for DeJarnette will be held at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon from the residence of his son, J. P. DeJarnette, JR., 604 Cotton Avenue, West End, with Rev. W. F. Price, presiding elder of the Birmingham district, assisted by Rev. W. B. Holmes, former pastor of the Vine Street Presbyterian church. .Active pallbearers: David Mims, Walter Mims, W. J. Mims, Dr. E. M. Stott, Herbert L. Wood, H. A. Middleton, Jr. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, with Johns in charge. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lizzie DeJarnette, daughter of the late Seth Wood of Birmingham; one son, J. P. DeJarnette, Jr.; one daughter, Mrs. John B. Rice of Red Bay, Ala.; one sister, Mrs. Kate D. Myers of Birmingham; four brothers: J. C. DeJarnette of Missoula, Mont.; Mims, Hugh M. and James T. DeJarnette of Birmingham. Mr. DeJarnette has spent his entire life in Birmingham.
