Minnie Bell Downey was born to Morton & Alma (Hughes)Downey. On April 28, 1945 she and Joseph Wheeler were united in marriage at Altus, OK. He preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1988. She was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God in Tipton,Ok. She is survived by one son, Jimmy Wheeler of Tulsa, OK and two daughters and sons-in-law; Kay & Wayne Lowe of Tipton, OK, and Laquita & Thurman Tidwell of Abilene, TX. 19 grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters: Jawana Cross & Juanita Davis; two grandsons:James Shannon and Bruce Cross; a great grandson: Danny Cross; two sisters Mertie Dixon & Peralie James; five brothers: Audie Bennie, Alfred, Dudle, and Sam Downey.
