Five Die In Auto Smashup Near Ada
Johnston County Commissioner, Four Others Killed As Cars Collide on Slick Road

Ada, Aug. 24 - Five persons were killed and two injured, one critically, in a head-on automobile collision south of here Sunday afternoon. C.C. CLARK of Mill Creek, a Johnston county commissioner, and Jack BEAN, forman of one of the large Westheimer-Daube ranches near Mill Creek, were killed instantly. Louise PRATT, Tushka, and Mary BRUNDRIDGE, Ada, died in a short time. A.J. POOLE, Mannsville, passed away later.
Those severely injured were Lindsey WILLIAMS, Tishomingo, and O.A.HUFF, Oklahoma City.
The accident occurred on state highway 48, two miles north of Fittstown, on a straight highway with asphalt top. Officers said the cars apparently skidded together on the shower-drenched road.
