Caroline Kirby Bryant was the daughter of Wm. Terrell and Frances Hunt Bryant of Spartanburg Co SC , she was married to James Richardson Bryant JR who served the Confederacy during the Civil War. He was killed Jan 1863 in VA.
leaving Carolina to rear their 11 children ranging from age 20 to 4 months, alone. Their oldest son, Roland was killed 1 Jul 1863 in the battle of Gettysburg, Adams Co, Pa.
A few years after the war, Caroline joined some of her kinfolks on a move to the West, she stopped a few months in TN before joining her kinsmen in Scott Co MO.
