Winifred Elmer Bilyeu, 96, St. Clair, formerly of Meta, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008.

Mr. Bilyeu was born Aug. 1, 1911, the son of Lewis Bilyeu and wife Henrietta Orr in Meta.

On Nov.7, 1935, he was united in marriage to Cleta Pendleton.

He was a welder by trade. He was employed by DeLongs, a bridge truss manufacturing plant, in Jefferson City for 24 years. He also was a farmer and maintained his own farm in Meta.

Mr. Bilyeu was a member of Meta Christian Church.

Mr Bilyeu was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ronald Bilyeu, one infant daughter, Velma Lee Bilyeu;one granddaughter, Kimberlee Bilyeu; one great-grandaughter, Danielle Ahart, two brothers, Harold and Mardie Bilyeu; and four sisters, Lennie Means, Wada Barnhart, Gertie Bilyeu and Mae Pendleton.

He is survived by his wife, Cleta Pendleton Bilyeu , St Clair; one daughter Lelia Ahart and husband Dallas, St Clair; three grandchildren, Gail Ahart and wife Kelly, St. Clair; Ricky Ahart, Fenton and Marlene Rammelsburg and husband Ron Union; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law two sister-in-laws; nieces, nephews; great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday April 14, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair. The Rev. John Dover officiated.

Burial was in Crestview Memoril Park Cemetery, St. Clair.
