Funeral services for Jesse Ben Hurd, well known Henry County citizen, who died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. M. King, Dillard Street, following several months illness, will be held from the King residence Thursday. The remains will then be carried to Mayodan, N.C., for interment.
Surviving are five children: Mrs. King, this city; Mrs. Lillie Neal, Danville; Irvin and Elmer Hurd, both of Martinsville, and Russell Hurd, of Danville. Two brothers, Tom Hurd of Mayodan and James Hurd of High Point, N.C., also remain.
His wife preceded him to the grave a number of years ago.
The deceased was a native of Stokes County, N.C., but had resided in this state a greater part of his life.
