Charlie Paul Jahnke 77, of Mart, entered into rest Wednesday, July 23, 2008. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Otto, Texas, with the Rev. Larry Felice and the Rev. Al Schwake officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Adams Funeral Home.

Charlie was born in Otto, Texas, to the late Walter O. and Clara Matilda Jahnke. He married Elfreda Hefelfinger on July 6, 1967, in Otto, Texas. He was a veteran in the U. S. Army serving in Korea. He enjoyed camping, fishing, fish fries, playing cards and winning. He loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and Edwin Jahnke.

Survivors are his wife, Elfreda Jahnke, of Mart; sons, Kenneth Jahnke, of Waxahachie, Texas, and Dennis Jahnke, of Ft. Worth; daughters, Teresa Jahnke and Charlotte Whited, both of Waco; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Hattie Hefelfinger, of Waco; other relatives and many friends.
