Mrs. Cockey was born Jan. 27, 1921, in East Helena, Montana, to John O. and Bertha Goldsworthy McDonald.
She married Charles Cockey on June 27, 1941. During the war years she was a driver for the Army and she worked for Montroy Supply Co. in Los Angeles for a number of years.
She enjoyed water-skiing, and water-ski racing in California, Nevada and Arizona. She enjoyed traveling, camping and their motorhome. She loved her three dogs.
She was a member of Job's Daughters and the Carson City Emblem Club No. 507. She had moved to Gardnerville eight years ago, coming from Inglewood, Calif.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Cockey, of Gardnerville.
There will be a second memorial performed for Mrs. Cockey on Oct. 25 in Inglewood, Calif., at the Chapel of the Chimes with entombment to follow at the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, Calif.
