He was born May 27, 1902, in Reed City and graduated from Reed City High School in 1923. He was married Dec. 13, 1930 in Big Rapids to Oneida Niergarth, who survives him.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Garleine) Dadles of Reed City, four sons, Garth of Reed City, Vernon of Reed City, Lamonte of Reed City and Garol of Hersey; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Ollie) Riggs and Mrs. Carl (Gladys) Gerard, both of Grand Rapids; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Erbes was a life-time resident of the Reed City area. He worked as a substitute mail carrier for 35 years and was also a bus driver and farmer. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Services will be 1:30 pm Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene. Officiating will be the Rev. Milton Hoose. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
