Rev. Esaw also served faithfully as the pastor of St. Phillip Baptist Church (Pocataligo, SC) for 26 years, First African Baptist Church (Yemassee, SC) and Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Hardeville,SC) for a number of years.
He was employed as a railworker and was employed by Local 1414 International Long Shoreman Association, and he retired from Jasper County Schools after 17 years of dedicated service. He was a good daddy and a friend to all.
He went on to his Heavenly reward on March 8, 2007 after a short illness. Rev. Esaw was preceeded in death by his first wife, the beautiful Margie and his namesake Isaac O'Neal (Patricia Ann) Esaw, Jr. From that union they raised one daughter Angela (Paul) Lowe, and four sons Sylvester Esaw, Wilson Stanley (Karen) Esaw, Guy Esaw and Sherman Esaw; He also leaves cherished memories with three brothers-in-law Tony Bryant, Jr., Howard Houston, and Benjamin Jenkins; two sisters-in-law, Mamie Taylor and Virginia Pursley. Rev. Esaw married his second wife Marie Bryant Esaw whom he enjoyed 34 years with. She has since passed on when this history was recorded.
The services were held on March 15, 2007 at the Mount Carmel Baptist Center in Ridgeland, SC. The Master of Ceremony was Rev. Jerry Reed, Jr., and Rev. Gregory Jenkins was the officiant.
