John W. Christopher, 69, a retired Purdue University employee, died at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday in Home Hospital, where he had been a patient 11 years. He had been in ill health the past 11 years. Born and reared at Battle Ground, he lived in the Lafayette area most of his life, and resided at 1215 S. 4th St.

In 1937, he was married at Lafayette to Dorothy L. Pierce, a retired Purdue University employee. Mr. Christopher was employed at Wiley Hall at Purdue 10 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the Loval Order of Moose 1529. Surviving with the widow are four daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Dorothy) Poore Sr., of West Lafayette, and Mrs. Joyce Coppock, Mrs. Phillip (Georgia) Richardson and Mrs. Jimmy (Patricia) Waters, all of Lafayette; his mother, Mrs. Delia Christopher of West Lafayette; and two brothers, Everett Christopher of Battle Ground, and Thomas Christopher of Brazil.
