TUPELO - Phillip C. Arnold, 54, died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Laney Greenhouse at Cedars Health Center. He was born Oct. 9, 1949, to Addie Irene Pinch Arnold and James C. Arnold Sr. At the age of 3 he moved with his family from Saltillo to Iuka, where he lived with his mother until her death in January 1985. He returned to Saltillo to live with his sister, Billie Sue Morgan. He attended the First Baptist Church of Saltillo.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Bobby Holland and the Rev. Terri Armstrong officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. at Snowdown Cemetery near Iuka.
Survivors include two sisters, Billie Sue Morgan and Dorothy Fay King of Saltillo; three brothers, Carl "Habo" Arnold of Vermelles, France, Jerrell Arnold of Pittsville, Wis., and Robert Arnold of Iuka; three aunts, three nieces, 11 nephews, many grand- and great-grandnieces and grand- and great-grandnephews; many cousins, including a special cousin, Doris Lambert of Iuka and friend, John Wayne Paden, of Iuka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marlene Arnold and Betty Jane Pickens; a brother, Johnny Dean Arnold; nieces, Lon Arnold and Roxanne King; grandnieces, August and Bailey Deaton; a grandnephew, Bradley Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandnephews and the staff of the Greenhouses of Cedars Health Center.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Greenhouse Project at Cedars Health Center or Meals on Wheels at Traceway, 2800 W. Main Street, Tupelo MS 38801 or a charity of choice.
