Mrs. Rachel Hannah Wilson died today at her home in Kinkaid township at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 20 days. Mrs. Wilson was born March 22, 1858 to Julia Boone Donalds and Moses Donalds, deceased pioneer settlers of Jackson county. She was the granddaughter of Vincent Benningsen Boone, who was the first white child born in Jackson county. Her grandfather was the brother of Daniel Boone, historical pioneer. Mrs. Wilson was married July 25, 1878, to Aaron Edward Wilson, who preceded her in death. Surviving children are John A. and Harrison of Ava, Myrtle Korando of Fort Gage, Ill., Golda M. Roddermund of Glendale, Calif. Two children, William Perry Wilson and Ruth Bilderback, preceded her in death. Other survivors are two sisters, Ellen D. Staten of East St. Louis and Nellie Dunhouse of Ava, one step sister, Sarah Jane Jonas of Percy and 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson had been a member of the Baptist church, located at Dry Hill, for the past 40 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church in Ava. The Rev. Marion Barringer will officiate. Interment will be at the Ava Evergreen cemetery. The funeral for Rachel Hannah Wilson was held on Thursday, February 13, 1941, and her pall bearers were as follows: Russell Wilson Neal Wilson Glenn Wilson Bernard Wilson Samuel Lavern Korando Fred W. Korando William Rodermund, Jr.
