Ida was the sixth daughter born to Sarah Armstrong Jones and John Jenkins Bennett and the 9th of 12 children.
She was the first wife of Alexander Calhoun McLeod. They were married on October 14, 1886, at the home of his brother, James Terry McLeod, by F.L. Townsend, Minister of Methodist Church.
Ida and A.C. had five children. She passed away shortly after the birth of their 5th child, at age 32, leaving three daughters and two sons.
Her sister, Mary Ella, married A.C.'s brother James Terry McLeod.
