MARGARET JANE NEWMAN NETHERY - Funeral Held For Mrs. Nethery On Monday - Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret (Babe) Nethery, 70, who died last Friday at the Memorial Hospital at Darlington after a lingering illness, were held Monday at the Erickson-Sharer funeral home, the Rev. Faye Johnson officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Shullsburg.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Thomas Nethery, Jack Nethery, Ronald Nethery, John Russell, Steven Nethery and Thomas Wilhelmson.
Mrs. Nethery was born December 30, 1902 in wood county, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Fred Newman. She married Vern Nethery September 23, 1920 and they resided in and around Darlington for 53 years, having celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1970.
She was a gold Star Mother, a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Ella Russell, Darlington; Betty Collins, Brodhead; a son, William, Gratiot; a sister, Mrs. Henry Schwartz, Browntown; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
