Carl Lantz Anderson, 74, of Patterson’s Creek, died yesterday at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Born in Hartsmanville, W.Va., he was a son of the late Robert Hall and Mary Jean (Mayberry) Anderson.

He was a retired employee of the Chessie System and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Patterson’s Creek.

Surviving are his widow, Ruth (Long) Anderson; one son, William M. Anderson, Stone Mountain, Ga.; three daughters, Isabelle A. Linn of Leesburg, Va.; Frances A. Alkire, Fort Ashby; Elizabeth A. Patterson, Newark, Del.; two brothers, Charles Anderson, Upper Tract, W.Va.; Wylie Anderson, Winchester, Va.; one sister, Ruth A. Huffman, of Florida; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home. Memorials may take the form of donations to the Retinal Vascular Center Research Foundation.
