Isom "Ike" Peeples, 79, a lifelong resident of Canon, Georgia died at the Cobb Memorial Hospital, Royston, Georgia at 5:00 pm Sunday July 23, 1961, after an illness of several years. A son of the late Robert L. Peeples and Lucy E. Brown Peeples, he was a member of the Church of God. He was retired farmer. His wife Elizabeth Fowler Peeples died in 1925. Survivors include one son; Raymond Peeples, of Royston, Georgia; three daughters; Mrs. Bertie Elrod, Decaatur, Georgia; Mrs, Jessie O'Neal, of Travelers Rest, S.C. Mrs. Ethel Gray, of Greenvile, S.C.; two brothers, Dan Peeples and Parker Peeples, both of Canon, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Marthay Davis, of Canon, Georgia; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren Funeral services will be at the Canon Holiness Church at 11:00 am Tuesday July 25, 1961, with Rev D. P. Herron officiating. Burial will be in the Fowler Family Cemetery. Pallbearers: George Fowler, Frank Fowler, Joe F. White, Fred Floyd, Loren Agnew, and Charles Davis. The body is at Pruitt-Herring Funeral Home at Royston, Georgia will be placed at the church at 10:30 a.m. 30 minutes before the services. The family is at the residence of Mrs. Laura Phillips, in the Goldmine community.
