Edith Davis Millwood, 67, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007. She was born December 11, 1939 in Edgecombe County, daughter of the late John Daniel and Edith Robinson Davis. Mrs. Millwood was a seamstress with Barcalounger. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles W., Johnnie L., Arthur R., and Rudolph Davis; one sister, Bessie Marie Spain. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Clarence Millwood of 42 years; one son, Thomas G. Millwood and wife Rita of Tarboro; one brother, Delano R. Davis (Tommy) of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren, Mandy Millwood and Nicholas Ellis; four nieces and seven nephews. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Rev. David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Oakview Baptist Church Building Fund at 2412 Arlington Street Extension, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowling Funeral Home & Crematory, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
