OBITUARY:
Ralph McClellan
Ralph McClellan, 97, Sullivan, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 1994, at Miller's Merry Manor, Sullivan.
He was born Jan. 29, 1897, in Sullivan County to William Wilson and Katie Ellen Creager McClellan. He was a retired coal miner and retail grocer. He was a veteran of World War I and a charter member of the Dugger American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Mitchell McClellan, who died in 1963; and two sons, Larry McClellan, who died in 1962, and Ralph William McClellan, who died in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Daniels Keene McClellan; four sons, Howard McClellan, Dyer, Kenneth McClellan, Shreveport, La., Roy Lee McClellan, Bedford, Texas, and Brent McClellan, Kokomo; two stepsons, Bob Keene, Mesa, Ariz., and Gerald Keene, Scotland; three daughters, Mary Cronk, Rockville, Mildred Williams, Kokomo, and Wilma J. Harrison, Shelburn; two stepdaughters, Betty Lippeatt, Sullivan, and Charlotte Gittleman, LaTrobe, Penn.; 21 grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Newkirk's Funeral Home with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial is in Hickory Cemetery, near Dugger. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
