Katherine "Kay" Berdahl, age 77 of Forsyth passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.

Kay was born July 10, 1931 to Charles and Gladys (Bennett) Biery in Knoke, IA.
She attended school in Ingomar . Following her schooling she was united in marriage to Benny O. Berdahl on October 4, 1947 in Forsyth. Together they made their first home in a sheepwagon north of Ingomar. Later they moved to Myers, Miles City and then to Forsyth where Benny began his career with the railroad. They were married for 58 years until the time of his death in November 2005.

Kay was very active in the Forsyth community. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Young Men's Club, American Legion and was very active supporting school activities, chaperoning dances and following her kids in sports. Kay was known as "Ma" by many a child growing up in Forsyth. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Kay was a mother to many children.

She is preceded in death by her husband Benny, her parents, her brothers Ward, John, Henry, Criss and Dick Biery and her brother-in-law Harold Juell.

Kay is survived by her daughter Teresa (Henry) Fink, sons Rocky (Kay) Berdahl and Roger Berdahl all of Forsyth, Todd (Jennifer) Biery of Kuna, ID; her brothers Daniel Biery of Rosebud, Kenneth (Sandra) Biery of Hardin, Ronald (Vicki) Biery of Belgrade; her sisters, Mary Ellen (Chuck) Watson of Forsyth and Judy Juell of Wolf Point; and her 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
