Services for Mr. Jeffie Owen Barnes, 78, of Shreveport, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday March 17 at Rose Neath's South side Chapel. The Rev. Price Harris, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial: Forest Park West Cemetery.

Mr. Barnes, a retired truck driver with Gulf Oil, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday March 15, 1984, at Doctors Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Pleasant Hill, LA and had been a resident of Shreveport for 38 years. Mr. Barnes was Methodist.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Josephine Barnes of Shreveport; four sisters, Thelma McCann of Greenwood, MS, Bertie Allen of Sarpeta, LA, Hazel Sutton of El Taso, TX and Edna Mae Walker of Logansport, LA; one grandson, Jeffrey Barnes of Shreveport.

Pallbearers: Joe Hall, Frank Goins, Don Nelson, Henry Palmer, Charles Presley and Mike Morris.
