~To live in the hearts we leave behind is truly not to die~

I want to make it to my graduation
Even though I haven't long to live.
I want that one last hard-earned celebration
To give me all the joy that it can give.
I want your pride around me like a song,
To walk within its passion and its beauty,
To feel its pleasure in me sweet and strong,
To be possessed of all of those who love me.
And then I want the lazy afterglow,
The long, slow chatter of the waning day,
The easy confidence of those who know
That something precious has been put away.

Please don't mourn for me. I'm still here, though you don't see.

I'm right by your side each night and day.
And within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.

My spirit is free, but I'll never depart,
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight.
I'm the brightest star on a warm summer's night.

I'll never go beyond your reach.
I'm the soft, warm sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes round.
And the pure, white snow that blankets the ground.

I'm the beautiful flowers of which you are so fond.
The clear, cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring.
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.

I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.

I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot, salty tears that flow when you weep,
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.

I'm the smile you see on a new baby's face.
Just look for me, Momma, I'm every place!

Poem For Celeste

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet wings in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there,I did not die.

A gentle wind blew cross the land ~ Reaching out to take a hand ~ For on the winds the angels came ~ Calling out a loved ones name ~ Deep in our hearts ~ Your memory is kept ~ Those who love you ~ Will never forget.

When I am gone release me let me go.
Someday you'll understand the things I've come to know.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears.
Be thankful for our many happy years.
I thank you for the love you each have shown.
But now it's time I traveled on alone.
So grieve a while for me if grieve you must.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a short time we must part.
Embrace the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on.
If you need me call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me I'll be near.
Just listen with your heart...I know you'll hear.
My love is all around you soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone.
I'll greet you with a smile...welcome home!

I'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
Left my skin and bones behind
now I'm over on the other side.

Can you feel me there with you?
My breath is gone but I'm not through.
Loved you then and I still do
from over on the other side.

I can fly...really fly.
Below the earth...all through the sky.
Tell them all I did not die.
I'm just over on the other side.

It's good here on the other side.
The sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
Thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

The world is smaller than a needle's eye.
Where life and death softly divide.
When you leave your skin and bones behind
I'll be waiting on the other side.
