Elzada Smith Egan

Elzada Smith Egan, 87, of Idaho Falls, died Dec. 16, 1995, at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls.

She was born June 2, 1908, at Grant to Seimons and Susan Raty. She was the oldest daughter of 13 children. She spent her years in the Grant and Lewisville area.

In 1924, she married Joseph McRae of Thorton. They had four children: Harry, Joe, Clyda and Ethel. They later divorced. In 1942, she married Orval Smith of Lyman. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had four children, Nyle, Gayle, Judy, and Ina. They resided in Lymn until 1972. In 1972, they moved to Idaho Falls. He died in 1974. She later married Frank Walker of Idaho Falls. He died in 1980. She then married Clifford Egan of Ririe. He died in 1986.

Survivors include a son, Joe R. McRae of Thornton; four daughters, Mrs. Henry (Clyda) Tea of Rigby, Mrs. Bob (Ethel) Sutton of Sun City, Calif., Mrs. Bill (Judy) Bennett of Idaho Falls, Ina Moore of Dubois; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted Raty of Ogden, Utah; and two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Mary) Thorman of Couer d'Alene, and Mrs. Hershell (Della) Cooper of Parkville, Mo. She was preceded in death by three children, Harry, Nyle and Gayle, and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and for one hour before the services. Burial will be at Sutton Cemetery in Archer.
