A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 2 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Everett Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 4-8 PM and again on Thursday from 12-2 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 20, 1930 in Marshall County, Betty was the daughter of the late Archie P. Ervin and the late Florence Cozart Ervin.
She resided in Maury County most of her life and was a member of Philadelphia Church of Christ. Betty was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family more than anything. Besides her work as a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, and fishing. Betty also loved listening to music and playing the piano.
She is survived by her children: Carla (Kennith) Wessner of Shelbyville, TN, Carmen (Brandon) Lawson of Tallahassee, FL, Roscoe (Kathy) Brannon of Columbia, TN; step children: Billy (Joyce) Cheek of Columbia, TN, David (Carolyn) Cheek of Waco, TN, Betty Lou Hardison of the Park Station Community, Nancy (Charlie) Brown of Petersburg, TN; siblings: Dot Young, Eleanor Rubert, Lula (Jack) Crigger, Wilburn (Betty) Ervin, Clyde (Kathy) Ervin, Jackie (Sue) Ervin; grandchildren: C.T. Wessner, Eric (Charlotte) Wessner, Jason Brannon, Meribeth Brannon, Mandy Brannon, Stephanie (Michael) Lampley, Billy Carl Brannon, Brianna Lawson; several step grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Billy Brannon; second husband: Chesley P. Cheek; son: Jimmy Joe Brannon; and brothers: Bobby Ervin and Claude Ervin.
Pallbearers will be: Jason Brannon, C.T Wessner, Eric Wessner, Ty Lampley, Austin Lampley, and Scotty Crigger. Honorary pallbearers will include: Michael Lampley and Billy Carl Brannon.
