Jack H. Carter moved to Haskell in 1926 from Knox County. He was a rock mason by trade. He was born in Lampasas County, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Carter. He married Miss Minnie May Rutledge on 4 April 1909 in San Angelo, Texas. The couple made their home there for several years before moving to Knox County. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Services were held at the family home. Survivors include his wife; two sons; two daughters; two sisters.
