She was a Teacher in the new Belmont School System in 1922-1923.

Belmont, MS~~Mrs. Dezzie Frances Clement Davis, 84, life expired Sunday Dec. 08, 1985 at the Red Bay Nursing Home. She was the widow of John William "Bill" Davis. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belmont, the Order of the Eastern Star and former part-time librarian at the Belmont Library.

Survivors include five daughters, Frances Barton of Memphis, Tn, Dot White of Oak Ridge, Tn, Betty Sue Huntley of Knoxville, Tn, Peggie Rouse of Nettleton and Patsy Clement, of Belmont; one son, Sgt. Harold Davis of Madrid, Spain; three sisters, Lora Lambert of Belmont, Ruth Yarber of Starkville, and Ann Shook of Belmont. Twenty one grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 11th. at the First Baptist Church in Belmont, with the Rev. Jack Maroon officiating. Burial was in the Belmont City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont was in charge of the arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Davis, her parents; John Edward and Ella King Clement; one son Eugene Davis, three infant brothers, two teenage brothers, one infant sister, One sister, Frances Barnes Clement, One brother, Walter Clement.
