DAVIS -- A celebration of life service for Elma Lorene Edgmon Roady will be 11 a.m. Monday at Davis Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Randy Tyler and the Rev. J.D. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of HALE'S Fox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roady, 89, Halifax. Mass, formerly of Davis, went to be with the Lord Sept. 21, 2005.

The eldest daughter of John and Mattie Edgmon, Lorene was born Nov. 11, 1915, southwest of Davis on the John Russell Ranch. She lived in the Davis are most of her life. On Oct. 15, 1937, Lorene married Jesse Frank Roady and they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in 1990. He preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1990. The following year Lorene moved to Halifax to be with her daughter and family. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Mattie Octavie Franks Edgmon, a baby brother, who died at birth, a brother, Earl Delbert Edgmon, and a sister, Nona Christine Edgmon Carpenter.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, homemaker and home health aide. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, writing cards and letters, reading, researching genealogy, sewing and crafts. He first love was the Lord and always dear to her heart were family, friends and neighbors.

Her past pleasures were singing a favorite hymn, sunny walks with family and picking a flower or two while watching the butterflies flutter by. Lorene was a member of the Davis Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Ladies Church Auxiliary. After moving to Massachusetts she attended Brockton Assembly of God.

Lorene is survived by her only daughter, Barbara Ann Roady Robinson and her husband, Larry L, two granddaughters, Jamie Laran and Carrie Leann Robinson, all Halifax; three brothers, Carlos Edgmon and his wife, Addie Mae, Durant, J.W. Edgmon, Black Canyon, Ariz., and Eugene Edgmon and his wife, Louise, Superior, Ariz.; two sisters, Hazel Millican and her husband, Roy, Oklahoma City, and Zella Tyler and her husband, Roy, Stratford; one aunt, Mary Kuemmerle, Gillette, Wyo.; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bearers are nephews.
