Richard W. Akin, late of 714 W. Adams, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 1984, at a local nursing home. Survived by daughter, Beverly (Richard) Bridgman, Pueblo; son Warren (Gloria) Akin, Wheat Ridge; grandchildren, Scott (Rhonda) Bridgman, Pueblo, Richard (Trish) Akin, Chicago, Ronald (Tanya) Akin, Kansas City, Kan., Robert (Roberta) Akin, San Diego, Calif., Karen (James) Shields and Aaron Akin, Pueblo. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Born Oct. 24, 1900, in Chautauqua, Kan. Lifetime Pueblo resident. Employed at CF&I in nail room for 49 years, retiring in 1965. Preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, in May 1977, and a son, Ellis Akin, in 1958. Mr. and Mrs. Akin were married in November 1918 in Golden. Married 58 years.
