Rasmus R. Eastwold, 74, of LeRoy, Minnesota, died at a Mason City nursing home Thursday afternoon. He spent most of his life in and near LeRoy.
Mr. Eastwold was born on October 19, 1877, at Stavanger, Norway. He came to the United States with his parents in 1884. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Eureka Masonic Lodge of LeRoy.
Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Robert LePage, Lake Elmo Minnesota; Miss Verdell Eastwold, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Mrs. M. C. (Bill) Stoddard, Mason City; two sons, Capt. Earl R. Eastwold, U.S. navy, Honolulu, Hawaii, and S. Sgt. Loren C. Eastwold, Panama Canal Zone; seven brothers: Dr. J. D. Eastwold, Spooner, Wisconsin, Dr. C. E. Eastwold, Minneota, Minnesota, O. H. Eastwood, LeRoy, Minnesota, Ole Eastwold, Swanville, Minnesota, Col. O. A. Eastwold, Ross, California, C. R. Eastwold, Miles City, Montana, and M. B. Eastwold, Van Nuys, California; and three sisters: Mrs. M. H. Hogan, Mrs. C. E. Lundale, Ind Mrs. S. C. Eastvold, Parkland, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and one sister.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The Martz Funeral Home of LeRoy, Minnesota, is in charge of arrangements.
