He was born on May 5, 1947 in Hutchinson, Kansas the son of Thomas W. & Esther Armstrong Curless.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked for Wilde Toole Company for 18 years, he then went to work for Flair Fold as a moulder operator and most recently worked for the Sac-n-Fox Casino in the security department.
On May 26, 1972 he married Linda Spicer in Willis, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Matthew Curless of Hiawatha, Kansas, two brothers, Jim Curless of Elmonte, California and Roger Curless of Savannah, Missouri, sister, Joanne James of Derby, Kansas and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at the Claytonville Cemetery Northeast of Horton, Kansas.
