A Bridgeport native, Pappy was a retired supervisor for Moore Special Tools, a Catholic, a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII serving as a light tank crewman, an avid boater and fisherman, a member of the VFW and a member of the Pequonnock and Fayerweather Yacht Clubs.
During his army career, he served in the Rhineland and Ardennes Campaigns and was awarded a Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, and a European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Medal.
Pappy is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary E. Wargo of Largo, his sons Gary V. (Peggy) of Seminole and Edward A. (Rita) of Bridsgeort, CT a daughter Mary Michelin of Monroe, CT, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were private.
