Nadine worked at the former M and O Cigar Factory in downtown Joplin, for several years. She also worked at the Safeway Bakery for 29 years and retired in 1982. She was a longtime member of First Gospel Workers Church, Joplin.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Richard Weir. Nadine married Bobby J. Powell on March 11, 1980, in Miami, Okla. He survives at the home. Additional survivors include a son, Dickie Weir, Joplin; one stepdaughter, Tamara Weigel, Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Nadine was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Weir; a daughter, Judith Yingst; two brothers, Jack Hettinger and Dick Hettinger; and two sisters, Evelyn Cox and Norma Hawley.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at First Gospel Workers Church. Rev. Phil Erwin will officiate. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Lopardo, John Lopardo, Levi Parker, John Curlee, Willie Powell and W. J. Kelley.
