Son of Augustus and Susan (Norton) Finney. Husband of Ann (Muir) Finney.

Some of Homer's favorite hobbies were photography and stamp collecting. Homer planted white pine tree seedlings on his farm to reforest hundreds of acres annually for the State of Vermont.

Homer L. Finney, 69, died at Hanover hospital May 4 after a long sickness.
Homer Leon Finney was born in Sharon Feb. 26, 1884, the third son of Augustus B. and Lora Norton Finney.
On May 23, 1908, he married Ann F. Muir and to this union were born three children: Mary Pettigrew, who died in infancy; Annie Myrtie, Mrs. Arthur Anderson, of East Boston, Mass.; Sidney Waldo of White River Junction. Mrs. Finney died July 9, 1928.
On July 10, 1936, he was married to Mary Dorothy LaPorte of East Boston, Mass., and to them were born three children: Mary Dorothy, who died in infancy; Homer William, 11, and John Richard, 6.
Mr. Finney worked on the telephone line a number of years before going to work in the tannery in Lebanon 12 years ago.
The funeral was held at his home in Lebanon Friday at 2 p. m., with the Rev. Gordon Adamson officiating. Bearers were members of the family. Burial was in the family lot in Pine Hill cemetery in Sharon.
Mr. Finney also leaves a sister, Mrs. Harry Brown, of North Randolph; a brother, Byron, of Wollaston, Mass., and three grandchildren, Charles, Marjorie and Helen Anderson of East Boston.
Those from away to attend were Mr. and Mrs. Byron Finney and three daughters from Wollaston, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson and daughters from East Boston, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brown of North Randolph, Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon Vezina of South Royalton and Mrs. Esther George and Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Muir and sons, Alexander and Marshall, of Sharon."
