David Calvin Almon was the son of William M. and Elizabeth Wasson Almon. His father was a soldier in he Confederate Army and fought with distinction under General Nathan Bedford Forrest.
Mr Almon was solicitor of the Eighth Judicial Circuit for more than a quarter of a century and one of Alabama's most distinguished lawyers. He was born at Moulton, Lawrence County, Alabama, Feb 11, 1867.
Mr. Almon was educated in the common schools of Lawrence County and graduated at the State Normal at Florence in 1886. He was admitted to the bar in 1887. On Christmas day, 1888, he was married to Miss Annie Miller, of Booneville, Miss.
He also served in the Alabama legislature and was a member of the constitutional convention which framed the present Alabama constitution in 1901.
