My grandmother, Hughie Baker, was the only daughter of Robert Maddux and Emily Elizabeth Wise Dunn.

In 1918 she married Theo Baker in Lincoln Co., TN on Christmas Day while seated in their buggy in front of the preacher's house.

They had 4 children: Hilda, Muriel and Harold (my father) - a daughter, Boone, was born and died 6 May 1926.

With the exception of a couple of short moves to other counties (Muriel was born in Bedford Co, TN), they lived in Lincoln Co, TN until about 1929 when they moved to Davidson Co., TN, eventually settling in DuPontonia (now Lakewood), where my grandmother worked in the family business, Bakers, in DuPontonia until they retired in the 1960's.

My grandmother died at Madison Hospital, Madison, TN in 1984 and is buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
