Mr. Martin

William H. Martin, 66, of 1001 East Maple Street, a longtime Cushing resident, died in the Cushing Hospital at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday following a serious illness of three weeks.

The funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Church of God, with Rev. Edwin Beasley, pastor and Rev. Ray C. Newman of Vinita, a former Cushing pastor, officiating.

The body will be taken to the Church at 1 p.m. to lie in state until the hour of the service and the casket will not be opened following the service.

Interment, under direction of the Davis Funeral Home, will be in the Harrell Cemetery, East of Cushing on the Country Club Road.

Mr. Martin, son of the late Marion E. and Parthenia "Salsman" Martin was born March 13, 1904 at Southmayd, Texas. He came to Oklahoma in 1928 settling at Tulsa and in 1930 he came to Cushing and had lived here since that time. He was a General Insurance Agent and was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Modern Woodman of America and a former member of the Kiwanis Club.

July 5, 1932 he was married to Hazel Moss in Cushing.

Relatives who survive are his wife, Hazel Martin of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Royce Meacham (Delores Ann) of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Jerry Don Wattenburger (Coretta Fay) of Gillette, Wyoming, three brothers, Ray A. Martin (Luella) of Oklahoma City, Austin D. Martin (Mattie) of Austin, Texas, Anderson A. (Thelma) Martin of Oklahoma City, one sister, Mrs. Ida Lovett of Amarillo, Texas, three grandsons and other relatives.
